Emilia Katherine Hope was born at 37 weeks on November 24, 2015. She was loved beyond measure. Emilia faced multiple health complications, and passed away on November 29, 2015 in the NICU at UMass Memorial, in the arms of her mother surrounded by those who loved her. In Emilia’s memory and honor, I’ve created Emilia’s Bags of Hope. They are comfort bags that are given to mothers (and recently expanded for fathers) to provide a small amount of comfort in the early days or weeks following a second trimester miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. The mission of Emilia’s Hope is that no grieving parent feel alone in their journey. Through physical comfort bags, peer support, and access to online supports, our hope is that families receive support early in their grief journey to limit their feelings of isolation.

Each bag is carefully constructed for the individual family. We do our best to send along items that are chosen carefully with your baby in mind. We try to pair the sweet blanket square in a color that you think of when you think about your baby. We do our best to personalize the bag so that you find as much comfort as possible when you open your bag, that was hand-packed with loved just for you. If we have your baby’s name, we always include it in the outer packaging.

We are always welcoming donations to our cause. Please click on the donate link if you would like to send financial support (used to cover shipping costs), or choose items off our amazon wishlist to be included in the bags. If you crochet/knit and would like to handmade some squares to be included in the bags, please contact us! We are always looking for these donations!
